Olatunji Femi Awojobi's life story is a testament to the power of determination, athletic prowess, and personal resilience. Born on July 30, 1973, in Nigeria, Tunji's early years were marked by a passion for sports that would define his entire life. As a young athlete, he was not content to excel in just one discipline, instead embracing multiple sports including basketball, track, and boxing. This diverse athletic background would prove to be the foundation of his future success.

Tunji's journey took a significant turn when he migrated to the United States, finding his athletic home in New Hampshire. During the 1992-93 NHIAA basketball season, he emerged as a standout player, leading the Pioneers to 15 victories and earning the prestigious title of New Hampshire Player of the Year. His athletic versatility shone through in track and field as well, where he performed at an all-state level in high jump, 100 meters, and 200 meters. His exceptional performance culminated in being named MVP of the Alhambra Game, an all-star basketball showcase that highlighted his extraordinary talents.

His collegiate career at Boston University from 1993 to 1997 was nothing short of legendary. Tunji made history as the first player in New England college basketball to achieve the remarkable feat of scoring 2,000 points and grabbing 1,000 rebounds. He distinguished himself as one of only five Division I players to simultaneously record 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, and 300 blocked shots. Throughout his college years, he established 13 Boston University records, including totals for points (2,308), rebounds (1,237), and blocked shots (302). His leadership was instrumental in guiding BU to a school-record 25 victories and winning both regular-season and tournament titles in the America East Conference.

Tunji's accolades during his collegiate years were extensive. He was a four-time team MVP, a first-team all-conference selection, and was named the league's Player of the Year in his senior season. His outstanding performance earned him additional honors, including New England Division I Player of the Year and first-team All-ECAC recognition. In 2002, he was inducted into the Boston University Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as one of the university's most exceptional athletes.

Following graduation, Tunji embarked on a 15-year professional basketball career primarily in European leagues. His international journey was highlighted by his participation in the Nigerian national team and two FIBA World Championships in 1998 and 2006. The crowning achievement of his professional career came while playing for Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel, where he won the ULEB Cup by defeating Real Madrid in the finals, showcasing his skills on an international stage.

Today, Tunji resides in Atlanta, Georgia, with his two sons, facing life's challenges with the same determination that characterized his athletic career. He currently undergoes dialysis three times a week while serving as the sole caretaker of his children. His current mission is to find a kidney donor to improve his health and continue supporting his family.
